Do you need to be fit before starting CrossFit?

Many people from Ede to Wageningen and from Bennekom to Veenendaal think so. In this blog, we explain to you why that is absolutely not true.

“Everyone over there is already super fit.”
“That’s not for me.
”Then everyone will be looking at me.”

You don't have to be fit to start.

CrossFit makes you fit. An entrance exam? No, we don’t do that ;).

The biggest fallacy about CrossFit is that it is only for super fit people. 
That you are not allowed to participate until you 10 pull-ups can, 100 pounds can squat of look like you’ve been training for 5 years. But, CrossFit is not a competition you have to qualify for first. CrossFit is a training method that makes you fit. Not the other way around.

is the number one reason people don’t start. But let’s face it. When are you “fit enough”?
If you can run 5 kilometers? If you have a six-pack? When you no longer feel out of breath climbing stairs?

Everyone starts somewhere. Also the people you see training at CrossFit Ede now.

What you don’t see:

  • That they too once started without fitness

  • That they also had doubts

  • That they also thought, “Is this even for me?”

CrossFit is scalable. That means each workout is customized to your level. That’s the whole idea of our concept :).  Whether you have: 20 years of athletic experience oor have barely moved in the past 10 years. The workout is customized to you. Not the other way around.

It may seem that way. And, quite frankly, in many cases it is. But, that’s a bit more nuanced. Especially when you see a video or walk in on a fanatical workout, it can come across as quite ”impressive.” But what you see is not the starting point of those people. What you see is their development. You do indeed get extremely fit through CrossFit and many of the people who train with us have been doing it for some time.

Can’t do a pull-up yet?
Then we do a variant that does succeed.
